About the Event
The Lunar New Year Parade and Festival returns to the Orange County Great Park in 2027 to welcome the Year of the Goat. Presented by the Asian American Museum at Great Park and co-hosted by the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association, the second annual celebration will bring the community together for a parade, live performances, food, games, and family activities.
The date, schedule, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities will be announced soon. Our inaugural 2026 celebration welcomed more than 9,300 guests to Great Park, and we can't wait to celebrate with you again.

What is Lunar New Year?
Lunar New Year is a major festival celebrating the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar, focused on family, renewal, and good fortune, marked by rituals like deep cleaning, festive feasts (especially the reunion dinner), honoring ancestors, giving red envelopes with money, and vibrant decorations with red and gold, often featuring lion or dragon dances and fireworks to ward off evil spirits. Celebrated across East and Southeast Asia and by diaspora communities worldwide, it marks the transition from one zodiac animal year to the next, symbolizing hope for prosperity and happiness in the coming year.
